Birth Care Providers

  • Kawartha Community Midwives

    Kawartha Community Midwives has been providing care to families in the Peterborough and surrounding communities since 1995. We respect diverse cultural traditions.

    We are located in a beautiful Victorian house in downtown Peterborough. We are wheelchair accessible.

    We offer personalized, professional care throughout the pregnancy, labour and birth, and up to six weeks postpartum. We are fully covered by Ontario Ministry of Health so there are no extra costs.

  • Midwives of Lindsay and the Lakes

    With expertise in promoting optimal pregnancy, physiologic birth, postpartum care, and care of the newborn, midwives can help women and families achieve health and wellness through many stages of life.

  • Partners in Pregnancy Clinic

    We are dedicated and experienced family physicians who are passionate about providing safe and patient-centred maternity and newborn care. You can be referred to us at any time in your pregnancy although we appreciate referrals prior to the 24 week mark. We will also take self-referrals. We attend births at the Peterborough Regional Health Center (PRHC).

    • Free urine pregnancy tests

    • Accurate information on pregnancy, adoption, abortion and parenting

    • Referrals to community services

    • Infant and maternity clothing and supplies

    Peterborough Child & Family Centres stands for inclusion, choice, and acceptance. We empower families and child care providers to make our PCFC community into what they need. To support them, we bring knowledge, guidance, experience and passion. We believe fun and play, attachment and learning are critical for child development.     PCFC is a registered, charitable, non-profit organization that provides information and support to expectant parents, families with young children and child care providers living in the County and City of Peterborough, Ontario.

    For more than 30 years, we have offered programs and services in a variety of safe, accessible, urban and rural locations.

    PCFC is a designated EarlyON Centre for the County and City of Peterborough, and the local site of the federally funded Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program and Community Action Program for Children.

    Telehealth Ontario is a free, confidential service you can call to get health advice or information. A Registered Nurse will take your call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Assistance is available in more than 300 languages. When you call Telehealth, tell them what language you speak and you will be connected to an interpreter.

    Child and Family programs offer a range of services to help children aged 0-6, their parents and caregivers:

    These services are free and offer safe and welcoming programs to all families.

  • Lavender and Play

    Lavender + Play was born when Sarah and Sonja came together to blend Play Cafe and Rooted Lavender during the Covid pandemic. They now offer a handpicked selection of toys, books, and gifts! Providing support for families, including programs, behavioural consults, postpartum doula services, and childbirth education

    Bi-weekly Google Meet meeetings are being offered in Peterborough. Please join us for your questions; to share; to talk to other parents, and to learn.   • PRHC Lactation Consultant

    The lactation consultant sees patients by appointment. During a typical appointment, a feeding is assessed, so it is important to see the lactation consultant close to the baby’s feeding time. The Breastfeeding Clinic is located in room W6609 in the Pediatric Outpatient area on Level 6 of PRHC.
